The Fuertes Observatory

Fuertes in winter

Fuertes Observatory, as seen from the North-East on a clear winter evening. The dome is kept shut during daylight. It houses the main telescope, a 12" refractor. On the right of the dome is the upper/observation deck, often used to mount smaller telescopes on. Below the deck is an old classroom, not currently in regular use by any Cornell courses. The lower level is well heated during the winter.
