I am an astronomer working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Theoretical Physics of the University of Zurich in the research group of Kim-Vy Tran. I completed my Ph.D. in Astronomy in June 2007 at Cornell University, working in the Extragalactic Group under the supervision of Riccardo Giovanelli.
My research interests revolve around the diverse properties of dwarf galaxies, from the processes leading to the onset of star formation, to the environmental dependencies of their chemical content and their distribution in the cosmic density field. Lately I have also been working on infrared data of intermediate-redshift clusters of galaxies and on scaling relations of disc galaxies.
I am actively involved in the Arecibo Legacy Fast ALFA Survey (ALFALFA), a blind survey of HI-bearing extragalactic objects.
NEWS! The results of my latest paper about the evolution of star formation in galaxy clusters as revealed by infrared observations are featured in this Spitzer news release!
