Dear Britt,
The other possible title for Amber, as a game, would be Paranoia,
if there weren't already another game with that name. Besides, it's fun
to tease you, or Dairmaid, or whoever. Barring Fiona trump spying, or
Dworkin being in the castle, and having an unfortunate tendency to know
too much about what's going on there - By the way, what's Dworkin like?
Is he sane? Is he still giving his grand- and greatgrand-, etc., kids
cigars any time he can think of an excuse for making them smoke the
things? What does he look like? What's wrong with having multiple
personalities? Any time one gets dominated, or taken over via trump,
over whatever, you just close that one down, and a different personality
takes over and runs for cover.
Chiara would certainly agree with the idea that one Oberon was
enough. He always seemed to be acting like a macho jerk, and it infected
both Finndo and Osric. Not good.
I like your two rules.
As to Caine trusting Dairmaid, why? After all, Dairmaid is an
Amberite. Remember what Dairmaid said about trusting Elders, and figure
the Elders probably look at all Amberites about the same way. That's why
they've survived so long. Who said that a match maker believes in love?
Sometimes it's just politically useful to have certain alliances
formalized -
Hey, Benedict was nicer to Dairmaid than Chiara was to Paul's
character, whose name escapes me at the moment. Chiara played with him
until he got brave enough to actually attack instead of defending
himself, then took his sword out of his hand in such a way that it just
fell into the hand of one of her men. Then she told him he needed
lessons. The weird thing was, he took that as kindly meant. Do you
expect me to ANSWER the question about whether the real Benedict is a
shifter?
