My dad, Ernst Scharringhausen, is a tool and die maker and is originally from Germany.
My mom, Julie Scharringhausen, is a German teacher at Dubuque Senior High School in Dubuque,Iowa. She serves on the Northeast Iowa Regional Telecommunications Council. She's helping develop the Iowa Communications Network, a web of fiber-optic-linked classrooms which provide new learning opportunities to students in schools and colleges throughout the state. She is also the president of the JDC UniServ Unit of the Iowa State Education Association. Whenever she teaches an internet seminar to her colleagues, they come to my page! YAY MOM! Mom's hobbies include collecting live animals and growing hostas.
My "little" sister, Gretchen, studies psychology and is a Shih Tzu breeder.
