Perreault 0618-0622 *LA recovering from a loss of commercial power 11858 100 4 earlier this evening that caused several false fire alarms. 20cm DEWAR is cold, but there is an ACU error (servo on synchro). Site tech Gene Dunn is on site and working on the problem. Antenna is not pointing correctly. 0626 LA site tech Gene Dunn is leaving site, He is done 11858 for the evening. He will start the 6cm and 7mm DEWARs cooling from home. 0656-0804 *LA there is an EL pointing error of up to 6" 11858 100 68 and getting a "jump" in EL by 5 degrees. Looks like there is an EL oscillation. Still have a "Servo on synchro" error. Called Gene on his cell phone, he is returning to the site. Have parked the antenna. 0719 LA site tech Gene is back on site, he says that the 11858 EL encoder is oscillating badly (i.e. sending oscillation commands to the EL drives). He will check it out to see if it can be fixed. 0728 NL wea: raining 0750 LA site tech Gene called, said that the encoder is 11858 dead as a result of the loss of commercial power that happened earlier. Removed LA from observing for the weekend and rebooted the site computer. 0755-0800 *FD autostowed. Power glitch. Repointed. COM 100 5 0757 LA site tech Gene called, said that he may have 11858 corrected the problem, asked to have observation reloaded. Did so, have repointed the antenna. 0804 LA on source, EL pointing looks stable. Gene has 11858 the ACU rack pulled out, going to leave things alone. He said that if it acts up again to park the antenna and leave it until Monday. 0819 End.
